Mr. Louis Tacito, President of Plastics Forming Enterprises, will provide us with an overview of the state of the world of recycling plastics.
Mr. Tacito, a 1974 graduate of the Plastics Engineering program worked on the original PET bottles and over time became interested in the recycling of these materials. He founded PFS which re-purposed recycled PET in sheet form and from that starting point played a pioneering role in the development of many aspects of large scale PET recycling, internationally. PFE was founded in 1984 to serve as an independent full service testing lab as well as a research and engineering company which serves the plastics industry. PFE supports many international companies in the areas of packaging, recycling, bioplastics, and consumer products industries.
PFE maintains a complete analytical laboratory and pilot facility to reproduce the plant floor industrial environment for clients to confidentially test existing products or materials. PFE then scales-up test results to a full commercial implementation. PFE plays a key role in numerous technology upgrades of existing manufacturing and recycling facilities.
